The victory of Telangana Jagruthi-backed candidates in Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s home district of erstwhile Palamur has raised eyebrows in political circles.
Former MLC and Telangana Jagruthi founder Kavitha backed candidates who contested the elections on the All India Forward Bloc symbol, “Lion”.
Vadepalli municipality has 10 wards. Of these, candidates backed by Kavitha, who contested on the AIFB symbol, won eight wards. The Congress and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi won one ward each.
The victory of Telangana Jagruthi-backed candidates in Vadepalli has also triggered debate in political circles. Kavitha’s supporters burst firecrackers and stated that the victory had infused confidence in the cadre. Interestingly, among the eight wards won by Kavitha-backed candidates, four were close relatives, reports said.
