Sangareddy: None of the major parties secured a majority in the newly formed Kohir municipality in the Zaheerabad Assembly constituency.
The Congress won eight of the 16 wards, while the BRS secured five wards. The BJP, MIM and an Independent candidate won one ward each.
With the BRS having an ex-officio member vote in the form of Zaheerabad MLA K. Manik Rao, the formation of the municipal body is expected to be keenly contested.
Meanwhile, major parties were preparing to shift their winning candidates to camps in neighbouring Karnataka and Maharashtra. The support of the independent, BJP and MIM councillors will play a crucial role in the formation of the municipal body.
