Hyderabad: Two held in Jubilee Hills burglary, jewellery worth Rs 1.3 crore recovered

Jubilee Hills police and Task Force arrested two men involved in a high-value house burglary at Nandagiri Hills and recovered jewellery worth Rs 1.3 crore. The suspects were caught near the Indo-Nepal border, while the prime accused remains absconding.

Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police along with the Task Force, arrested two men allegedly involved in a high-value house burglary reported at Nandagiri Hills in Jubilee Hills, and recovered a major portion of the stolen jewellery.

The arrested suspects are Bhupender Shahi alias Bhuvan (22) and Krishna Chand (23). They were tracked and nabbed near the Indo-Nepal border along with the stolen property.


The robbery took place on February 5, when a domestic worker allegedly facilitated the crime by allowing her associates into the house while the owners were away.

Police said the accused drugged the watchmen and a cook before decamping with gold and diamond ornaments valued at about Rs 1.3 crore.

Both have confessed to their role and were remanded in judicial custody on Monday.

Police said the prime suspect, identified as Jiban Chand, is absconding and efforts were on to trace him and recover the remaining valuables.
