Hyderabad:: Unidentified persons allegedly burgled the C.R. Rao Institute on the University of Hyderabad campus and decamped with around 50 laptops valued at approximately Rs.25 lakh.
According to preliminary information, the burglars gained entry into a classroom by removing window grills and stole the laptops kept inside. CCTV footage reportedly captured the suspects loading the stolen laptops into a car before fleeing the spot.
The theft came to light on Monday when institute staff noticed damaged window grills and found the laptops missing.
University security officials subsequently lodged a complaint with the Gachibowli police, who registered a case and launched an investigation.
