A suspicious fire at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad has triggered political controversy, with BRS leaders alleging possible destruction of crucial evidence in sensitive cases, including the 2015 note-for-vote scandal.

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday raised concerns over whether crucial digital evidence related to the 2015 ‘note-for-vote’ case could have been destroyed in the suspicious fire incident at the Forensic Science Laboratory.
Responding on X to a post by BRS spokesperson Manne Krishank, who questioned Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on what evidence was being erased, Rama Rao said, “I am guessing the voice recordings of the famous Note-for-Vote case. And trying to cover up for lack of evidence in cooked up political cases like phone-tapping…”
BRS senior leader and former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar also expressed serious suspicions over the fire accident at the FSL in Nampally and demanded a probe into the incident. Taking to X, he said the police department’s highly critical and heavily secured forensic laboratory being gutted in a fire was triggering serious doubts.
“Evidence pertaining to several critical and sensitive cases, including the 2015 note-for-vote case were stored in the lab. What is their status?” Praveen Kumar asked, demanding a high-level probe into the incident.
“The current government will stoop down to any level to destroy evidence,” the BRS senior leader alleged.
