Begumpet police registered a case against a man identified as Anil for allegedly attacking a female dog with a stick, causing serious injuries including fractures. The incident came to light after a complaint was lodged by Dattatraya Joshi of People for Animals.

Hyderabad: The Begumpet police registered a case against a man for allegedly brutally hitting a dog with a stick resulting in injuries to the canine.
The case was registered following a complaint made by Dattatraya Joshi, of the NGO, People for Animal.
According to the police, Anil, a resident of Chikoti Garden, Begumpet, on spotting a female dog, repeatedly hit the canine with a large stick.
“The dog had serious injuries including fractures and was shifted to the PFA Abhaya Emergency Rescue Home, Nagole for treatment,” said Dattatraya Joshi, in his complaint to the police.
The police, based on the complaint, registered a case against Anil under different Sections of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and are investigating.
