Jagtial: About 300 stray dogs were allegedly killed by administering poisonous injections in Pegadapalli mandal. Though the incident occurred on January 22, it came to light later following a complaint by animal rights activists.
Cruelty prevention assistant Mudavath Preethi of the Stray Animal Foundation of India lodged a complaint with Pegadapalli police on January 23.
Based on the complaint, the police registered an FIR and launched an investigation against the village Sarpanch and Gram Panchayat Secretary.
