ACB arrests three Nandigama officials over bribe for building permissions

The Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested three Nandigama mandal officials for demanding a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh for house-building permission. They were caught red-handed while accepting Rs 1 lakh. Legal proceedings are underway in ACB Court, Hyderabad.

ACB arrests three Nandigama officials over bribe for building permissions

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Wednesday arrested two officials in Nandigama mandal, Ranga Reddy district, for demanding and accepting a bribe for processing building permissions.

The arrested are Panna Sumathi, Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO), Nandigama mandal, Ranga Reddy district; Vadithyath Tej Singh, Mandal Panchayath Officer (MPO) and Avula Chennaiah, Panchayath Secretary, Edulapally Gram Panchayath of Nandigama mandal.


According to the officials, the trio had demanded a bribe of Rs 2.50 lakh from a man for granting house-building permission. “Already, the three officials had accepted Rs 1.5 lakh from the complainant and were pestering for the remaining amount. On Wednesday, they were caught red-handed when they accepted the remaining amount of Rs 1 lakh,” said ACB officials.

The three persons are arrested and being produced before the ACB Court, Hyderabad.
