Hyderabad, June 7 (NSS): The new cabinet of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy will have five deputy chief ministers.Addressing the YSRCLP meeting at his camp office in Tadepalli after offering floral tributes to his father late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Friday, Jagan said leaders from SC, ST, BC, Kapu and Minority communities would be the five deputy CMs of the State. He also said his cabinet would consist of 20 ministers and five deputy CMs. He also said he would reshuffle his cabinet after two-and-a-half years. However, the CM did not disclose the names of his proposed cabinet colleagues during his address.
Stressing an urgent need to bring about a lot of changes in the implementation of various welfare programs in the State, the Chief Minister appealed to the MLAs to ensure there was no corruption in the delivery of public services and implementation of welfare programs.
Revealing the details of his meeting with the Acting Chief Justice of the State, Jagan said he urged the ACJ to set up a judicial commission for reviewing all kinds of public contracts to avoid corruption in the State. He said all tenders floated by the State government would be in public domain for seven days to ensure complete transparency. Jagan alleged that the Opposition TDP leaders had siphoned off the public money in the name of tenders during their rule.
Exhorting his party colleagues to think about transparent governance immediately after the completion of the swearing-in ceremony of cabinet ministers, Jagan said the swearing-in ceremony would be held at 11.49 am on Saturday. The State Secretariat will be the venue to hold the swearing-in ceremony of the cabinet. Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States ESL Narasimhan will administer oath of office to cabinet ministers.
According to informed sources, party seniors, who worked with YS Jagan’s late father Dr YS Rajashekhara Reddy have made a comeback this time and they were promised Cabinet berths to a few new leaders during the course his election campaign. The cabinet would be a mix of seniors and newly elected leaders.
Some of the probable names that are coming up include legislators Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, G Srikanth Reddy, Alla Ramakrishna Reddy Veterans like Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Botsa Satyanarayana, Dharmana Prasada Rao and Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, who were ministers in the YSR Cabinet are also leading the race of aspirants. It is learnt that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will induct his council of ministers on Saturday, more than a week after he was sworn in alone.
Political analysts see this as a revolutionary measure to appease all sections of society and his party men, who contributed to the land slide win of his party in the recent elections. He also told all the members that the public was closely following their every step and they had to be cautious about the same.
